dóm -a m, mest. ed.
Temporality. Something that is not supposed to last long, something current and something that should not drag on.
The installation is an answer to the theme of the project Začasno. Do nadaljnega. (Temporally. Till further notice). The exhibition addresses the problem of inaccessibility of production spaces in Ljubljana.
dóm -a m, mest. ed. (“dom” means home) deals with the space needed before any production spaces – with space that provides a roof over the head.
Even though there are a lot of new buildings appearing in the city, due to their elitism, there is less and less space to live. Transient states are starting to drag on and occupied vacancies are staying empty for most people. All they do, they allow our adoration and settling in “as if” worlds of our daydreams. We peak through the windows and admire shiny advertisement images of perfect homes, but when we wake up, we always end up in front of the face of the facade. The glimpse of temporal daydream is dragged into a non-ending game of abstract shape transformations. At least till further notice.
